B4E @ Rio +20

The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, or Rio +20, took place in Brazil in June 2012 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. With the aim to secure renewed global political commitment for sustainable development the Rio +20 Conference focused on two themes: a green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication; and the institutional framework for sustainable development. To seize the opportunity and advance a new global agenda for sustainable development, a special B4E event was held in Rio de Janeiro during the Rio +20 Conference in 2012. This event brought together global thought leaders, heads of state, chief executives and visionaries to present their ‘Big ideas for a sustainable future’, delivered in a series of powerful and inspiring presentations and discussion panels.
