Environmental & Sustanaibilty Policy
DESTINATION & VENUE
Purpose:
- To ensure sustainability is integrated into the accommodation of the event
- To promote documentation of policies
Activities Implemented:
- Established an environmental and sustainability office at corporate headquarters to oversee the
implementation of environmental and sustainability efforts - Property participates in Green Globe accreditation process
Purpose:
- To encourage and promote adoption of sustainable practices by all stakeholders
Activities Implemented:
- Property is currently using e-signages for communication purposes, but restricted to commercial use
Purpose:
- To reduce energy use and production of greenhouse gases through proper waste handling
- To advocate materials management hierarchy for waste in order of the following:
– Eliminate waste by reducing material use
– Minimise waste through reuse or recycling
– Minimise waste through composting
– Land filling and combustion or incineration for remaining waste - To manage materials in a sustainable manner that conserves virgin resources that would otherwise serve as
raw materials for new products
Activities Implemented:
- Property has an extensive recycling programme throughout the property including guest rooms and operational offices
- Guests will have the option to forgo daily bed linen exchange. Property shall communicate this upon check-in

- Non disposable drinking ware and stirrers shall be provided in guest rooms

- To reduce use of energy in the operations, and thereby minimize the production of carbon dioxide as a

- Property uses “occupancy-based intelligence” programs to enable energy usage to be adjusted according to
building occupancy - Property operates adequate scheduled lighting, escalators, lift, air-conditioning and other operational
requirements based on daily schedule of events - Property uses energy efficient lighting systems
Purpose:
- To promote improvements in overall air quality
Activities Implemented:
- Property uses low and non VOC materials and non-toxic cleaning products
Purpose:
- To optimize the efficient use of water and energy associated with water use
- To reduce or eliminate chemicals added to water supplies
- To capture rainwater and grey water for additional use and re-use
- To reduce energy necessary in purifying, pumping and treating water used by the facility, and thereby reduce the production of carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas.
- To promote conservation of a valuable natural resource
Activities Implemented:
- Property implements an extensive water recycling programme for equipment cooling and grey water
applications. The property system also provides other neighboring complex with recycled water. - Property uses manual/electric eyes device controls for low flow water devices in
a. Faucets (reduction to ½ gallon per minute)
b. Toilets (or duel flush toilets, reduction to 1.28 gallons per flush)
c. Urinals (or zero flush urinals, reduction to 0 gallons per flush)
d. Showerheads (reduction to 1 to 1.5 gallons per minute)
Purpose:
- To promote environmental protection through strategic purchasing of sustainable goods and services
Activities Implemented:
- Minimise number of disposable items (paper or plastic cups, dining ware and individually packaged food items)
- Use reusable items such as ceramic or glassware, ramekins and bulk purchase condiments such as sugar

- To commit to volunteering or giving back to the local community
