econsense confirmed partnership with Global Initiatives to support B4E Global Summit 2012 held in Berlin this May.

Founded in 2000, the German association consists of 33 members from leading, globally-active companies in Germany who have common interests in shaping the future of sustainable economics and corporate social responsibility.

Through open dialogues and forums, econsense aims to reach ground breaking innovations and policies with its member companies. It facilitates the integration of sustainable policies into corporate strategies and tackles the associated environmental , economic and socio-political issues.

Just recently, econsense held one of its regular meetings, which was headed by Prof. Dr. Jochen Pampel and Christian Hell of KPMG. Under the theme Transformation of Sustainability Management and Reporting, participants discussed how to achieve sustainable business through transparent, comprehensive and consistent reporting.

Both speakers emphasized the need to see sustainability as a business case that can be backed by concrete facts and figures and advocated for the integration of sustainability into business reports. The delegates also explored future sustainability trends in their industries and identified possible implications to the economy.

econsense is organizing its next event “Adventure Biodiversity” on May 21 together with National Geographic Society at the Natural History Museum. This is a prelude to celebrate International Day of Biodiversity on May 22. The association will be presenting on the different aspects and dimensions of biodiversity while highlighting the challenges. This event will include an exclusive visual showcase by Swedish photographer, Mattias Klum.

Apart from events, the association also regularly produces informative materials to help organisations in strategy planning. One of its effective research material is the demographic risk map that can analyse the impact of demographic change in 264 regions across Europe. It serves to minimise risks and present opportunities for organisations to make well-informed go-to-market decisions.

B4E Global Summit 2012 is proud to have Dr. Thomas Koenen, Executive Director of econsense , to speak in one of the working group sessions of day 2. With extensive experience in the fields of sustainability management, corporate responsibility and climate protection, Dr. Koenen will share about valuing natural capital on the road for Rio+20.
