Ambassador Nozipho Joyce Mxakato-Diseko is currently the Deputy Director General, Americas and Caribbean in the South African government’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation. Prior to this, she was appointed by the President as National Commissioner to the Public Service Commission (2004 – 2010) and served as Chief Commissioner of the International Trade Administration Commission (2000 – 2003). Amb. Mxakato-Diseko has had an extensive career in the diplomatic services, including a period of service as South Africa’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Vienna. She graduated from Somerville College, Oxford University.
