Beate Trankmann

Ms Trankmann has had a diverse career in UNDP from the late nineties, particularly in the Asia region. Most recently she served as the DRR Programme for Sri Lanka Country Office in Colombo, where she positioned UNDP Sri Lanka in
the UNDAF, led Country Programme development for the period of 2008‐2012 and built the policy advocacy and advisory services, resource mobilisation and partnership
building around the programme. She had also served UNDP in Cambodia, China, New York and Geneva. Before joining UNDP, Ms. Trankmann was a research fellow to the European
Institute for Asian studies in Brussels. She holds a Master degree in Political Science from the University of Hamburg and a Bachelor Degree in China Studies.
Dorothy Maxwell

Dorothy Maxwell has an MSc and PhD in Environmental Science from Imperial College London. She has over 20 years professional experience working in the environmental / sustainability arena with government and industry in Europe, USA & Asia working with Accenture, Willis Risk Management, European Commission, UNEP and her own consultancy GVSS Ltd. She has been an expert advisor to UK Defra sustainable product/green economy depts and the Prince of Wales’s International Sustainability Unit. She is also a lecturer at Imperial College London’s MSc on sustainable business. She is currently Exec Director and CEO at the TEEB for Business Coalition

Dr. Efransjah joined WWF Indonesia to take the helm of the organization as Chief Executive Officer of WWF Indonesia in 2010. He previously served CIFOR Regional Coordinator for South-east and East Asia, 7 years as UNDP Chief Technical Advisor in charge of a large GEF initiative (Global Environment Facility), and 10 years as Projects Manager (Asia and Pacific region) at the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) in Yokohama, Japan. He started his earlier career with the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry.
Peter Holmgren

Before his current position at CIFOR, Dr. Peter Holmgren was responsible for the overall profile and coordination of FAO’s work related to climate change, energy and land tenure across the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors. He set up inter-agency UN-REDD Programme, led the development of the climate-smart agriculture approach, and coordinated FAO’s preparations for Rio+20. Peter is determined to expand forestry development agenda to address current major challenges: poverty, food security, climate change and green growth.
Tony Simons

Tony Simons has worked 27 years on issues at the tropical agriculture/forestry interface – in the private sector (Shell Forestry), academia (University of Oxford), official development assistance (ODA/DFID) and research (CGIAR). He holds degrees from Massey University and Cambridge University and an Honorary Professorship in Tropical Forestry at the University of Copenhagen. He has published over 100 research papers. He is passionate about the transformative and profitable change that the private sector can bring to development.
